Primetime viewing just got even better when one of ABS-CBN’s top billing dramas Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo introduced three new characters to the storyline this week. Three assassins played by the beautiful Miriam Quiambao, hot car racer Gaby dela Merced and wushu athlete and commercial model Janice Hung.
Miriam Quiambao who heads the group plays out her character pretty well. It’s a different side to Miriam people would want to see. It’s a strong character and she’s definitely making her mark on acting. Don’t get me wrong now, I totally like Gaby dela Merced, her character, although an assistant to Miriam’s, seems to be a strong a character as her fellow assassins. I tell you, there are no weakly built characters here although; it sorta irks me seeing a Goku with a gun through Gaby’s style. She can cut down on the atrocious hair style. Her acting as I’ve seen so far has been pretty consistent and it makes me happy.
Another good surprise would have to be the casting of the girl you all probably remember as the hair product endorser and wushu athlete at the last SEA games. The girl has a name and it’s Janice Hung and to tell you the truth, Janice’s short appearance and fight scene with Gabby Concepcion was more memorable than all of Gabby Concepcion’s screen time combined this week.
Although she’s appeared on primetime action-fantasy drama Rounin before, her character was a bit short lived. But hopefully we get to see more from her in the coming weeks through Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo. I tremendously enjoyed her fighting scene this week and I really hope there’ll be more to come.
