Talent-search programs are making a comeback in the Philippines as initiated by TV5′s Talentadong Pinoy, which has been making waves in the ratings game for the past months. But the advent of new similar shows did not stop the Ryan Agoncillo-hosted program from dominating the Saturday ratings. Showtime debuted yesterday and entered the daily programming race in the no. 8 spot but only to a modest rating of 3.3%. The daytime arena is still being ruled by Wowowee with a TV rating of 20.4%. This is based on TNS national survey. In the prime time rankings, Darna showed strength as it moved back to the no. 4 position and registered a 30% rating, making Lovers in Paris lose ground and fell back... 

Kimmy Dora, Eugene Domingo’s first lead role, ruled the box office for the second straight week with over P20 million based on Box Office Mojo’s September 9-13 figures. Kimmy Dora now earned a  total of PhP50,582,638 in its first two weeks of showing. Aside from Kimmy Dora, there were only two other local films that made it to the top 20 — And I Love You So and Tarot. And I Love... 

Top 3 in the Daytime programming are 2 kapamilya shows and 1 kapuso show. Leading the pack is Wowowee with 21.4% followed by Nagsimula sa Puso on no. 2 spot with 17.5%. Completing the top 3 is the longest running noontime variety show in the Philippines Eat… Bulaga! with 15.9%. Primetime ratings is in favor of the Kapamilya shows, as Darna drops to no. 6 spot with 25.5% and switches places... 

Other than a few wins by the Kapamilya network including Pinoy Big Brother Double Up, PBB Uber, and Katorse, the ratings game is still being dominated by Kapuso shows. There were no big movements in yesterday’s nationwide TV rankings by TNS. Wowowee still reigned the Daytime programming with a 20.6% rating, edging out newcomer Nagsimula sa Puso by 5.2%, which managed to steal the no. 2 position from Eat Bulaga. The Kapamilya drama moved up a notch with 16.4% pushing down Eat Bulaga to no. 3 spot with 16.3%. The 27th season debut of Daisy Siete: My Shuper...

Friday ratings for the new Kapamilya afternoon soap were favorable, registering a 16.3% TV rating, placing third behind Wowowee which was able to score 20.7% at no. 1 and Eat Bulaga! at no. 2 with 16.9%. Meanwhile in the Prime time programming, the top 3 spots were occupied by 3 Kapamilya programs. Leading the race was  TV Patrol World.... 

Pinoy Big Brother Double Up promises an exciting season not just inside the famous house but also in the ratings arena as the reality franchise finally picked up and scored almost 28% last Wednesday, October 14, 2009 based on AGB-Nielsen Mega Manila survey. PBB Double Up had a disappointingly weak pilot week with ratings almost stagnant below 20% but the introduction of new housemates stirred things...
