Pressure rises for newcomer Andi Eigenmann as her first teleserye Agua Bendita continues to soar even before she could enter the picture. In fact, Agua Bendita has been the consistent leader in TNS nationwide survey. Now, the inspirational drama conquers AGB-Nielsen Mega Manila as it registered 34.3% on Thursday, February 25, while rival Panday Kids, 33.2%.

Agua Bendita made a big splash on its first week with its Thursday episode even dominating its timeslot. No other primetime series from ABS-CBN had topped timeslot rankings on its debut week — not May Bukas Pa, not Tayong Dalawa. Agua Bendita swam to the top on Thursday with 32.3% while Darna, nearing its finale, only registered 31.5%.
Meanwhile, Diz Iz It’s performance in the ratings game continues to disappoint many Kapuso. Diz Iz It sank deeper even before it could surface. Diz Iz It scored 8.2% while Showtime 18.5%.

Habang May Buhay’s pilot episode lost to Full House by a hairbreadth of an inch. Judy Ann Santos’ primetime comeback project scored 28%, just a bit short to beating Full House 28.1%.
Calling it a failure would be premature, though, because the Juday, the face of 60th year of soap opera, has not appeared in the teleserye yet. We’ll see what’s gonna happen next.

The battle of the newbies has started last Monday when two newcomers Bangs Garcia and Jennica Garcia took on the lead role in their respective afternoon soap operas. Bangs topbills Magkano ang Iyong Dangal, directed by Chito Rono while Jennica leads the cast of Ina, Kasusuklaman Ba Kita? which also stars her real-life mother Jean Garcia.

The clash between Kapuso fantasy series The Last Prince and newly launched Kapamilya drama Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo gets more and more exciting as their ratings went see-saw last Tuesday and Wednesday, January 19-20, 2009 based on AGB-Nielsen Mega Manila survey.
The Kim Chiu-Gerald Anderson-starrer ruled by a mile on its debut night but the fun was spoiled the next day when The Last Prince, topbilled Kris Bernal and Aljur Abrenica, stole the lead. The Last Prince scored 34.1% last Tuesday, 2 points higher than Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo’s 32.1%.

Dahil May Isang Ikaw ended last Friday with a silver trophy but Kapamilya fans would be glad to hear that what got the now defunct drama beat was another teleserye, the inspirational drama May Bukas Pa. The Santino-led teleserye scored 34.2% while Dahil May Isang Ikaw 33.9%.

Showtime had been suspended for 20 days by MTRCB but its replacement Magpasikat managed to keep the momentum with its first episode last Tuesday, January 11, 2009 based on AGB-Nielsen Mega Manila ratings.
Magpasikat is basically a quite reformatted Showtime with the same hosts Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Kuya Kim Atienza, and Vice Ganda. It seems like Marian Rivera found her greatest rival in Pinoy Big Brother Double Up housemates as the reality show murdered both of her current shows last Sunday and Monday, January 3-4, 2009, based on AGB-Nielsen Mega Manila Survey.
PBB Double Up took the top spot from Darna on Monday. PBB Double Up scored 35.1% while Darna 34.2. The Toni Gonzaga-hosted franchise also got the other Marian Rivera show beat with PBB Double Up nomination night registering 24.1% while Show Me Da Manny, also starring Manny Pacquiao, 12.2%.

Kapuso Network GMA7 is going to axe daytime talk show Sis anytime soon and for a good reason. The Carmina Villaroel-Gelli De Belen-Janice de Belen hosted show has not just declined in ratings but also gets murdered by its new rival Showtime hosted by Kuya Kim Atienza, Vhong Navarro, and Anne Curtis. In fact, the past three days, Showtime has been registering ratings that are almost triple that of Sis. On Wednesday alone, December 16, Sis scored 6.6% while Showtime 18.8%.
