Let’s face it: If your early morning programs rate better than your late afternoon shows, then there really is a serious problem. That’s why ABS-CBN should really do something about its late afternoon block.

Mega Manila seems to be not too happy with the Kapamilya Network’s offering if we base our assumptions on yesterday’s survey by AGB-Nielsen. Three of its afternoon series — Miss No Good (7.4%), Maria de Jesus (9.4%) and Mr. Bean (6.9%) — were all below sea level, if we define sea level at 10%. All of them rated lower than Umagang Kay Ganda which managed to hit 9.7%, although still lower than rival Unang Hirit with 11%.

ABS-CBN’s afternoon ratings may suck but the Kapamilya network pulls itself together come primetime albeit barely. Dahil May Isang Ikaw and TV Patrol World remained above 30%.

Rosalinda was also dangerously close toTayong Dalawa with only less than 1% between them. That’s pretty alarming because it is the part where Tayong Dalawa should be scoring high enough to intimidate Rosalinda. The Kim Chiu-Gerald Anderson teleserye is on its last two weeks.

Florinda shows no improvement while May Bukas Pa easily submerged to 27.9% after getting another taste of the above-30 level the day before. Darna, on the other hand, zoomed back up hitting 43.3%.

Meanwhile, Katorse flinched a little as All My Life inched it out by 2.3%.

Darna experienced a major dip in Mega Manila on Wednesday. Marian Rivera’s fourth primetime series took a quick plunge to the 37.2% mark. Is this the start of a bumpy road for the Pinay superheroine?

Meanwhile, Kapuso star Kris Bernal and Cosmopolitan Centerfolds 2009 hunk Aljur Abrenica reclaimed timeslot supremacy as All My Life scored 20.3%, a bit higher than its close rival Katorse, featuring other Cosmomen hotties Ejay Falcon and Xian Lim, and young actress Erich Gonzales. The Kapuso love team is set to grace the silver screen once again with Regal’s newest offering Nandito Ako… Nagmamahal Sa ‘Yo.

GMA7′s latest tagalized Korean series Shining Inheritance made its first win in the ratings game with its second episode last Tuesday, September 1, 2009. The modern-day Cinderella love story starring Han Hyo Joo, Lee Seung Ki, Bae Soo Bin and Moon Chae Won registered 15.8%, 2.2% higher than its entertainment news rival Showbiz News Ngayon with 13.6%.

Shining Inheritance was not able to pull off a fashionable entrance on Monday. It’s pilot episode scored 16.6% while  SNN posted 17.1%.

Meanwhile, Katorse seems to be determined to stay on top. Katorse recorded 18% on Tuesday, sucking all the life out of All My Life which only garnered 16.1%.

24 Oras remains the most watched primetime news program with 30.9%, putting TV Patrol World in its shadow with 28%.

May Bukas Pa may have reclaimed the no. 1 spot in nationwide ratings but Mega Manila remains Darna‘s territory. Darna continues to make waves in the 40s ground. Darna scored 41.1%, way higher than May Bukas Pa‘s 29.7%, although Santino is slowly pulling himself together.

Tayong Dalawa is still the second most popular TV program in the capital with 33.6%, defeating Rosalinda with 31.4%. It has to be noted that Rosalinda‘s ratings get prettier and prettier for the Kapuso every day.

Adik Sa ‘Yo is on a different high with 30.6%, higher than Dahil May Isang Ikaw by 2.6%, while Survivor Philippines: Palau posted 28.6%, 10% higher than The Wedding.

On its second day, Dahil May Isang Ikaw saw no change in their ratings. Like yesterday, the powerhouse drama registered 28.8%, beating its Kapuso rival Adik Sa ‘Yo by half a point.

Meanwhile, Darna is still the ruling force in the ratings game, scoring 41.6%. However, it seems like Santino is regaining its strength gradually. May Bukas Pa hit 29%, a big jump from its 25.8% yesterday. Is May Bukas Pa slowly gaining back its lost audiences?

Katorse remains beneath All My Life. Katorse, also on its second episode, posted 19.3%, a bit lower than its pilot. All My Life scored 21.4%.

Tayong Dalawa is steady at second place with 33.3%. 24 Oras completed the top 3 with 32.2%.

But the Kapamilya fans should not worry because the top spot remained in Tayong Dalawa‘s hands. The heavy drama starring Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson was the only program that was able to go beyond 30% last Thursday. Boys Over Flowers also rated better than All My Life.

GMA-7 (Kapuso) shows won’t give up the fight for Primetime Supremacy just like that. Two of the Kapuso shows managed to grab the top 2 positions in the Mega Manila Ratings list for July 27, 2009. 24 Oras was able to hold on the no. 1 spot with a rating of 34.5% compared to its Kapamilya rival show TV Patrol World getting only a 28.8% rating. While Zorro got a share of 33.7% and was able to topple down May Bukas Pa with a 32.8% rating.

All My Life was consistently gaining audience, it posted a 26.8% keeping Boys Over Flowers on the unfertile soil. The koreanovela show only got a 21.2% tv rating.

Rosalinda was still on the losing ground in its primetime slot and continuously losing scent. It only got a 27.9% rating, compared to its 2 Kapamilya rival shows Tayong Dalawa and Only You which managed to get a 31.1% and 31% ratings respectively.

The battle for primetime supremacy in Mega Manila is tougher than ever. Last Tuesday (July 21), based on AGB Nielsen Media Research, Zorro swooshed his way to the top with 36.4%. Mike Enriquez and Mel Tiangco of 24 Oras were at a far second with 32.6%. ABS-CBN dramas Tayong Dalawa, Only You and May Bukas Pa completed the top 5.

Boys Over Flowers dropped below 20%, defeated by the Aljur Abrenica-Kris Bernal tandem of All My Life. Rosalinda was still too weak to perform with 28.6%

Mega Manila was ruled by Zorro once again as it hit 31.3% rating, taking back the top spot last Tuesday, July 07, 2009 based on AGB Nielsen.

All My Life, registered a 22.2% rating,  defeating Boys Over Flowers by 2.2%.

Rosalinda starring Carla Abellana rocketed to the no. 3 position, which may be a sign that it is gradually gaining audience. Only You, not to be disregarded as a major threat, as Rosalinda’s lead was a narrow 0.7%. Will Rosalinda gain momentum? Let’s wait and see.

Tayong Dalawa and May Bukas Pa continue to fight hard with the Kapuso shows. They placed No. 4 and the No. 5, respectively.

As for the daytime shows, Eat Bulaga was immovable on top of the afternoon shows with a 26.6% rating, 9.8% higher than Willi Revillame’s Wowowee. Kung Aagawin Mo ang Lahat sa Akin placed second with 21.1%.

It’s been an action-packed weekend in the Mega Manila ratings arena! The Kapuso and Kapamilya networks both have winning and losing battles but here are some of the most remarkable!

• Last Friday, Totoy Bato‘s final episode hits the top spot after a series of injuries from romantic comedy Korean adaptation Only You. At least, the Robin Padilla-Regine Velasquez starrer exited gracefully.
• TV Patrol (25%)finally steals news supremacy from 24 Oras (23.5%)!
• All My Life (19.3%) still had no muscle to topple Boys Over Flowers (21.4%).
• Adik Sa ‘Yo (28.2%), meanwhile, inched closer to Tayong Dalawa (29%)!
• Eat Bulaga was the highest rater last Saturday with 28.4%. This was higher than any of the primetime shows that day.
• On the other hand, FPJ made Vicky Morales wishing for higher ratings as Cinema FPJ (15.8) beat Wish Ko Lang (11.6).
• Your Song Presents Gaano Kita Kamahal, topbilled by the very controversial Maricar Reyes, won a war of its own last Sunday. Gaano Kita Kamahal garnered 13.2%, defeating Dear Friend with 12%.
• Ruffa Gutierrez can take credit to The Buzz‘s high ratings last Sunday. The show featured an exclusive live interrogation of Ruffa by Boy Abunda regarding the rumored relationship between her and John Lloyd Cruz. The Buzz scored 15.2% against Showbiz Central with 13.7%.
