It’s been an action-packed weekend in the Mega Manila ratings arena! The Kapuso and Kapamilya networks both have winning and losing battles but here are some of the most remarkable!
Last Friday, Totoy Bato’s final episode hits the top spot after a series of injuries from romantic comedy Korean adaptation Only You. At least, the Robin Padilla-Regine Velasquez starrer exited gracefully.
TV Patrol (25%)finally steals news supremacy from 24 Oras (23.5%)!
All My Life (19.3%) still had no muscle to topple Boys Over Flowers (21.4%).

Just when you thought ABS-CBN was lying low again in Mega Manila, its teleseryes made shocking records as May Bukas Pa and Tayong Dalawa took the lead last Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
Actually, it’s not surprising for Tayong Dalawa, since it’s been a consistent ruler in its time slot. But May Bukas Pa was quite a shock although it’s not really the first time. Although the Korean adaptation of Hana Yori Dango, Boys Over Flowers, seems to be stuck at the fifth spot in the national primetime program rankings, it actually is back in the 30s. Its ratings dropped to 27.5 last Monday probably due to the premiere of the much awaited primetime debut of Aljur-Kris loveteam in All My Life, which failed to enter the Top 10 on Monday or Tuesday.
Another remarkable thing was that Kambal Sa Uma once again dominated daytime TV, kicking Wowowee out of the top spot!

Competition just got stiffer as TV5 enters the picture. The crown for the leading reality game show was won by Talentadong Pinoy (hosted by Ryan Agoncillo) which scored 20% defeating GMA7’s Are You the Next Big Star (17.4%) and ABS-CBN2’s The Singing Bee (19.1%) last Saturday, June 26, based on AGB Nielsen Philippines.
This was just one of the many shows from TV5 that edged out the two giant networks last Saturday. Other highlights include:

ABS-CBN’s newest addition to PrimeTime Bida The Wedding won over the nation as the romantic comedy series entered the Top 10 Primetime shows for June 29, 2009, Monday.
The Wedding ranked 9th with 22%. Although it defeated Cruel Love, it is still low in terms of debut ratings. This may be caused by it’s late night schedule. The timeslot has always been said as “jinxed” because Kapamilya shows in this timeslot rarely fly or at least beat the competition.

Kambal sa Uma took away the No. 1 spot from Wowowee in the National TV ratings conducted by TNS last June 23 to 25. Kambal sa Uma eventually took over the top spot last June 24, but Wowowee was able to grab the top spot on June 23 and 25.
In the Prime time race May Bukas Pa continued to dominate the National Ratings game, posting a 41% ratings followed by Only You, Tayong Dalawa, TV Patrol World, and Boys Over Flowers.

Here are the latest AGB Nielsen Mega Manila Ratings for June 23-25. Eat Bulaga catapulted to the No. 1 spot again in the daytime race, Eat Bulaga posted a 26% ratings, followed by three kapuso afternoon dramas: Kung Aagawin Mo ang Lahat Sa Akin, Ngayon at Kailanman, and Daisy Siete.

Sine Novela Presents: Gilda Olvidado’s Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin? wins over the country as it finally tops the National Daytime Program Rankings on June 19, Friday, according to TNS Philippines Television Audience Measurement.
Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin overthrows Wowowee, which had been ruling the daytime ratings for the longest time. Jim Hernandez’s Kambal Sa Uma completes the top 3.

Japanese drama One Liter of Tears breaks through to the Top 10 National Primetime Programs, kicking game show Pinoy Bingo Night out of the race.
One Liter of Tears hits 17.7% on Wednesday, putting it on the 10th spot, based on TNS Television Audience Measurement’s nationwide rankings on Wednesday, June 15.
Pinoy Bingo Night, hosted by Kris Aquino, is on its last two weeks.

On its third day, Taiwanese romantic comedy Love or Bread continues to push Korean series rerun My Name is Kim Sam Soon to shame, although the gap is narrowed down to only 0.1%, based on Mega Manila ratings by AGB Nielsen Media Research.
According to TNS Media Research Philippines, Love or Bread debuted on Monday with 16.5% in the national ratings and 13.8% in Mega Manila, better than 9.0% that Kim Sam Soon garnered both in Mega Manila and nationwide ratings.
