‘Rosalinda’ Gets Dangerously Close to ‘Tayong Dalawa’; ABS-CBN Afternoon Block About to Kiss Bottom | September 8 AGB-Nielsen Mega Manila Ratings

Let’s face it: If your early morning programs rate better than your late afternoon shows, then there really is a serious problem. That’s why ABS-CBN should really do something about its late afternoon block.
Mega Manila seems to be not too happy with the Kapamilya Network’s offering if we base our assumptions on yesterday’s survey by AGB-Nielsen. Three of its afternoon series — Miss No Good (7.4%), Maria de Jesus (9.4%) and Mr. Bean (6.9%) — were all below sea level, if we define sea level at 10%. All of them …

National Ratings Show No Movements; ABS-CBN Still on Top | July 28, TNS Nationwide TV Ratings

There are no movements in the Daytime and Primetime TV Ratings for July 28, 2009 Tuesday. The Top 3 spots for the Daytime Ratings were occupied by 3 Kapamilya shows: Wowowee (24.4%), Kambal sa Uma (22%) and Precious Hearts Romances (17.1%). While Eat Bulaga was in tight grip of the no. 4 spot with a rating of 16.5%, the no. 5 spot was taken over by Maria De Jesus Ang Anghel sa Lansangan posting a 15.1% tv rating.
Meanwhile, the Primetime TV Ratings game was again ruled by  Kapamilya shows. May Bukas Pa …

‘Kapuso Shows’ Still Fighting for Primetime Supremacy | July 27 AGB-Nielsen Mega Manila Ratings

GMA-7 (Kapuso) shows won’t give up the fight for Primetime Supremacy just like that. Two of the Kapuso shows managed to grab the top 2 positions in the Mega Manila Ratings list for July 27, 2009. 24 Oras was able to hold on the no. 1 spot with a rating of 34.5% compared to its Kapamilya rival show TV Patrol World getting only a 28.8% rating. While Zorro got a share of 33.7% and was able to topple down May Bukas Pa with a 32.8% rating.
All My Life was consistently gaining …

‘Boys Over Flowers’ and ‘Rosalinda’ Bloom Up

Spring is long over but Mega Manila ratings of Boys Over Flowers and Rosalinda seem to have blossomed last Wednesday, July 8, 2009 based on AGB Nielsen.
Boys Over Flowers reclaimed its time slot from All My Life. The Tagalized Korean series registered a 19.3% rating, almost 2% higher than the Aljur Abrenica-Kris Bernal starrer. Hmmm. These two shows seem to be on a seesaw in terms of Mega Manila ratings. Which show do you watch?
Meanwhile, the gap between Mexican adaptation Rosalinda and Korean remake Only You widened to almost 5%. …

‘Rosalinda’ Fails to Impress Mega Manila; ‘Only You,’ Unrelenting

After the release of Rosalinda’s pilot episode’s embarrassing national ratings (23.1%) yesterday, many people waited for the Mega Manila figures. However, Rosalinda is not able to win Mega Manila, either, based on AGB Nielsen. Mega Manila has been a Kapuso territory for the longest time.
Topbilled by new GMA star Carla Abellana and Geoff Eigenmann, Rosalinda fails to meet many people’s expections as it posted 26.3% on its first night, placing it on the sixth spot, behind ABS-CBN’s Only You starring former Kapuso superstar Angel Locsin.
Now, more pressure is on Marian …

‘Rosalinda’ Disappoints, Scores Low Nationwide Ratings

Newcomer Carla Abellana and leading man Geoff Eigenmann won’t want to see the national ratings of their fresh soap opera Rosalinda. GMA’s adaptation of the Mexican hit premiered with a so very disappointing 23.1%, which seems to not affect the Korean remake Only You, topbilled by Angel Locsin, Diether Ocampo, and Sam Milby.
Bluntly put, Rosalinda fails to save the Kapuso network’s ailing nationwide ratings, which GMA7 was surely hoping for Carla Abellana to accomplish. For now, the Kapuso network should just wait for the legendary superheroine Darna, to be portrayed …

‘May Bukas Pa,’ ‘Tayong Dalawa’ Seize No. 1 Spot in Mega Manila

Just when you thought ABS-CBN was lying low again in Mega Manila, its teleseryes made shocking records as May Bukas Pa and Tayong Dalawa took the lead last Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
Actually, it’s not surprising for Tayong Dalawa, since it’s been a consistent ruler in its time slot. But May Bukas Pa was quite a shock although it’s not really the first time. Santino and the gang topped the Mega Manila ratings on June 12 this year.  Maricar Reyes made a guest appearance on Thursday so she can’t take credit …

“All My Life” Still Weak; ‘Boys Over Flowers’ Back to 30s

Although the Korean adaptation of Hana Yori Dango, Boys Over Flowers, seems to be stuck at the fifth spot in the national primetime program rankings, it actually is back in the 30s. Its ratings dropped to 27.5 last Monday probably due to the premiere of the much awaited primetime debut of Aljur-Kris loveteam in All My Life, which failed to enter the Top 10 on Monday or Tuesday.
Another remarkable thing was that Kambal Sa Uma once again dominated daytime TV, kicking Wowowee out of the top spot!

‘Talentadong Pinoy’ Beats Kapamilya and Kapuso Shows

Competition just got stiffer as TV5 enters the picture. The crown for the leading reality game show was won by Talentadong Pinoy (hosted by Ryan Agoncillo) which scored 20% defeating GMA7’s Are You the Next Big Star (17.4%) and ABS-CBN2’s The Singing Bee (19.1%) last Saturday, June 26, based on AGB Nielsen Philippines.
This was just one of the many shows from TV5 that edged out the two giant networks last Saturday. Other highlights include:

Maalaala Mo Kaya taking a beating from Midnight DJ

Spongebob Squarepants scaring Hana Kimi Crazy in Love and …

‘The Wedding’ Charms National Ratings

ABS-CBN’s newest addition to PrimeTime Bida The Wedding won over the nation as the romantic comedy series entered the Top 10 Primetime shows for June 29, 2009, Monday.
The Wedding ranked 9th with 22%. Although it defeated Cruel Love, it is still low in terms of debut ratings. This may be caused by it’s late night schedule. The timeslot has always been said as “jinxed” because Kapamilya shows in this timeslot rarely fly or at least beat the competition.
All My Life, which also premiered last Monday, did not affect Boys Over …
