Talentadong Pinoy ran short of a point to staying the Saturday ruler in Mega Manila based on AGB-Nielsen Mega Manila ratings. The Ryan Agoncillo-hosted talent show was only able to score 26.2%, edged out by Kapuso magazine show Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho by 0.1%. Agimat closes the top 3 for Saturday.

Pinoy Big Brother Double Up promises an exciting season not just inside the famous house but also in the ratings arena as the reality franchise finally picked up and scored almost 28% last Wednesday, October 14, 2009 based on AGB-Nielsen Mega Manila survey.

PBB Double Up had a disappointingly weak pilot week with ratings almost stagnant below 20% but the introduction of new housemates stirred things up and might have triggered the increase in ratings. Rival Survivor Philippines Palau scored 24.4%.

But Kapamilyas still need to worry about Nagsimula sa Puso, topbilled by Maja Salvador, among other things. The afternoon soap opera registered only 13.2% against Daisy Siete 18.4%.

Moreover, Mega Manila remains a Kapuso territory as GMA7 programs won almost every battle. Darna remained the top primetime program and Eat Bulaga daytime. In fact, the Kapuso network swept the daytime slate.

PBB Double Up, Katorse and Dahil May Isang Ikaw were the only ABS-CBN shows that emerged triumphant on that day.

Even though the storyline was stretched too far alfready, Tayong Dalawa managed to keep its audiences gripping their seats last Friday, July 24, 2009, based on the Mega Manila ratings released by AGB-Nielsen. Tayong Dalawa topped the most-watched programs list for that day with 33.7%. Rival Adik Sa ‘Yo recorded 25.2%.

But it was not just Adik Sa ‘Yo. GMA7′s primetime block dropped below 30% in Mega Manila. The strongest Kapuso teleserye Zorro, topbilled by the now controversial Richard Gutierrez, fell to 27.6%, beaten by the inspirational drama May Bukas Pa with 30.4%, one of the two programs that hit the 30s mark that day.

Rosalinda and Fernando Jose have nothing to be happy about; their teleserye Rosalinda was deeper in the list with 25.6%. Only You registered a 28.3% rating.

Although it defeated TV Patrol World by more than 3%, 24 Oras was not able to reach the 30% bar either.

Saturday was a different story though. GMA 7 swept the entire day save for Cinema FPJ which edged out Wish Ko Lang by 1%.

Sunday was also a Kapuso Day. The only Kapamilya shows that rated higher than competition were Your Song and Sunday’s Best Presents The Michael Jackson Story. The rest were battles won by GMA7.

Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho and Mel and Joey ruled Saturday and Sunday respectively.

For the second time this month, ABS-CBN’s primetime drama teleseryes hit 30s. Last Thursday, July 23, 2009, May Bukas Pa topped the Mega Manila ratings based on AGB-Nielsen Media Research. Santino and the rest of the cast managed to push the show to reach 32.8%. Tayong Dalawa grabbed the silver trophy with 32.6%. Angel Locsin, Diether Ocampo and Sam Milby completed the top three with Only You, which registered 31.2%.

Romantic comedies Boys Over Flowers and The Wedding edged out respective competition.

The Kapamilya Primetime Bida almost swept the block but 24 Oras got in the way, beating ABS-CBN’s flagship news program TV Patrol World by almost 4%.

The battle for primetime supremacy in Mega Manila is tougher than ever. Last Tuesday (July 21), based on AGB Nielsen Media Research, Zorro swooshed his way to the top with 36.4%. Mike Enriquez and Mel Tiangco of 24 Oras were at a far second with 32.6%. ABS-CBN dramas Tayong Dalawa, Only You and May Bukas Pa completed the top 5.

Boys Over Flowers dropped below 20%, defeated by the Aljur Abrenica-Kris Bernal tandem of All My Life. Rosalinda was still too weak to perform with 28.6%

While GMA7′s flagship newscast 24 Oras was still reigning supreme with 34.8% last Monday, July 20, 2009, ABS-CBN primetime dramas chandelled to the 30s stratum. May Bukas Pa scored 34%, Only You 31.8%, and Tayong Dalawa 31.7%. This is based on AGB-Nielsen Mega Manila ratings.

Yes, the ratings on Monday were unusually high compared to the last few weeks. Even TV Patrol World, which normally registers 25% also hit 30%. It’s difficult to pinpoint what caused this. It wasn’t holiday and the rain wasn’t that violent. Kapamilya teleserye’s impressive performance may be attributed to the storylines of the show. Only You, for one, featured a heavy confrontation between the protagonists and villains.

Rosalinda and The Wedding were still weak despite the sudden surge in ratings.

As days pass, the battle for supremacy becomes more and more exciting. We’ll see how new shows such as GMA’s Darna and Stairway to Heaven and ABS-CBN’s Lovers in Paris, Dahil May Isang Ikaw, and Rubi will change the ratings landscape in the future.

GMA7 and ABS-CBN2 seem to have divided weekend dominance with the Kapuso network ruling Saturday ratings and the Kapamilya, Sunday, based on the July 17-19 TV audience measurement by AGB-Nielsen in Mega Manila.

GMA7 almost swept Saturday ratings but Banana Split, the gag show topbilled by Angelica Panganiban, got in the way. Banana Split had always been on the losing end but last weekend was a rare triumph for the cast of Banana Split which also includes Jayson Gainza, Pokwang, Zanjoe Marudo, John Prats, RR Enriquez and Pooh. Jayson and Angelica’s impersonation of Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino finally paid off.

Regine Velasquez outsang Cesar Montano as singing competition Are You the Next Big Star edged out game show The Singing Bee.

On the other hand, Sunday was ruled by ABS-CBN, which also almost swept Sunday ratings. What spoiled the fun for the Kapamilya fans was Kap’s Amazing Stories, hosted by Sen. Bong Revilla Jr., spanking the kids of Goin’ Bulilit to shame.

Meanwhile, Your Song Presents: Gaano Kita Kamahal starring controversial actress Maricar Reyes, Sid Lucero and Jodi Sta. Maria-Lacson also outplayed Dear Friend.

But as early as Friday, the ratings arena was action-packed. Eat Bulaga hit the 30s while Rosalinda sank even deeper to 23.5%. Only you beat Rosalinda by almost 3%. Do you think Rosalinda is a hopeless case? Will its ratings improve or will it continue to drop?

Cruel Love also ruined The Wedding. La Lola defeated Pilipinas Game KNB. 24 Oras still led the pack.

Spring is long over but Mega Manila ratings of Boys Over Flowers and Rosalinda seem to have blossomed last Wednesday, July 8, 2009 based on AGB Nielsen.

Boys Over Flowers reclaimed its time slot from All My Life. The Tagalized Korean series registered a 19.3% rating, almost 2% higher than the Aljur Abrenica-Kris Bernal starrer. Hmmm. These two shows seem to be on a seesaw in terms of Mega Manila ratings. Which show do you watch?

Meanwhile, the gap between Mexican adaptation Rosalinda and Korean remake Only You widened to almost 5%. Do you think Rosalinda is starting to pick up in Mega Manila?

After the release of Rosalinda‘s pilot episode’s embarrassing national ratings (23.1%) yesterday, many people waited for the Mega Manila figures. However, Rosalinda is not able to win Mega Manila, either, based on AGB Nielsen. Mega Manila has been a Kapuso territory for the longest time.

Topbilled by new GMA star Carla Abellana and Geoff Eigenmann, Rosalinda fails to meet many people’s expections as it posted 26.3% on its first night, placing it on the sixth spot, behind ABS-CBN’s Only You starring former Kapuso superstar Angel Locsin.

Now, more pressure is on Marian Rivera’s shoulders. Narda seems to be GMA7′s last hope to save their ratings this season.

Meanwhile, two TV5 programs managed to secure their places in the top 10 daytime programs. Here are the complete lists:
