GMA7′s latest tagalized Korean series Shining Inheritance made its first win in the ratings game with its second episode last Tuesday, September 1, 2009. The modern-day Cinderella love story starring Han Hyo Joo, Lee Seung Ki, Bae Soo Bin and Moon Chae Won registered 15.8%, 2.2% higher than its entertainment news rival Showbiz News Ngayon with 13.6%.

Shining Inheritance was not able to pull off a fashionable entrance on Monday. It’s pilot episode scored 16.6% while  SNN posted 17.1%.

Meanwhile, Katorse seems to be determined to stay on top. Katorse recorded 18% on Tuesday, sucking all the life out of All My Life which only garnered 16.1%.

24 Oras remains the most watched primetime news program with 30.9%, putting TV Patrol World in its shadow with 28%.

May Bukas Pa may have reclaimed the no. 1 spot in nationwide ratings but Mega Manila remains Darna‘s territory. Darna continues to make waves in the 40s ground. Darna scored 41.1%, way higher than May Bukas Pa‘s 29.7%, although Santino is slowly pulling himself together.

Tayong Dalawa is still the second most popular TV program in the capital with 33.6%, defeating Rosalinda with 31.4%. It has to be noted that Rosalinda‘s ratings get prettier and prettier for the Kapuso every day.

Adik Sa ‘Yo is on a different high with 30.6%, higher than Dahil May Isang Ikaw by 2.6%, while Survivor Philippines: Palau posted 28.6%, 10% higher than The Wedding.

The figures released by TNS yesterday proved that ABS-CBN’s newest additions to Primetime Bida were able to get big lovin’ from the entire nation. Both Dahil May Isang Ikaw and Katorse outshone their Kapuso rivals in the ratings game arena.

But how about in Mega Manila?

Well, the numbers are out, too. Dahil May Isang Ikaw scored its first win on its first night of airing. The Lorna Tolentino-Gabby Concepcion reunion project posted 28.8%. That’s 0.8% better than Adik Sa ‘Yo.

However, the other teleserye Katorse, starring Erich Gonzales, fell short of support. Katorse almost won the battle for timeslot dominance. Almost but not quite. All My Life inched it out by 0.9%. Katorse stars Erich Gonzales, Enchong Dee, Ejay Falcon and newcomer Xian Lim.

Meanwhile, Tayong Dalawa gave Rosalinda a beating on Monday. Tayong Dalawa was just moved up the timeslot to replace Only You, which ended last Friday. The Kapamilya teleserye registered 31% against Rosalinda with 28.9%.

Survivor Philippines Palau inched out The Wedding by almost 7%.

Darna remained the primetime queen with 43.9%.

Although Darna dropped a bit in the ratings game last Friday, the Marian Rivera-starrer remained the most popular television program last Friday, August 20, 2009 based on the figures released by AGB-Nielsen Media Research.

The Pinay superheroine lost almost 5 points that day with 39.4% but still miles away from phenomenal inspirational soap opera May Bukas Pa which only managed to collect 26.3%.

Tayong Dalawa was at a far second with 32.8%, defeating romantic comedy Adik Sa ‘Yo.

Only You pulled off a graceful exit as it outperformed Mexican drama remake Rosalinda. Only You‘s finale registered 29.6%, almost 2 points higher than the Carla Abellana starrer.

Survivor Philippines Season 2 failed to survive the first day of battle against Kapamilya shows, many of which managed to earn a 30+ in the tv ratings game. Survivor debuted with a weak rating of 20.1%, way behind The Wedding with a 2.6% edge over the new Kapuso reality program.

Tayong Dalawa was the greatest gainer of all the primetime shows, posting a 37.9% rating. Adik Sa ‘Yo, which managed to register only 20.5%,  took a hard punch against Tayong Dalawa, losing the battle for its primetime slot dominance.

Tayong Dalawa dominated the AGB-Nielsen Mega Manila ratings yet again last Tuesday, July 28, 2009. The Kapamilya teleserye scored 32.7%, the highest that day.

On close second was Zorro with 32.4%. May Bukas Pa completed the top 3 with 31.5%.

Zorro and 24 Oras remain the only Kapuso programs that registered ratings above 30%. Rosalinda and Adik Sa ‘Yo only managed to hit 28.2% and 25.8% respectively.

Nearing its finale, Only You was able to reach 30% while The Wedding did not make it to pass the 20% mark, but still beat Cruel Love by a few decimals.

The daytime  block remained a Kapuso territory with Kung Aagawin Mo ang Lahat sa Akin murdering Maria de Jesus. The sine novela scored 14% higher than its Latin American telenovela rival.

For the second time this month, ABS-CBN’s primetime drama teleseryes hit 30s. Last Thursday, July 23, 2009, May Bukas Pa topped the Mega Manila ratings based on AGB-Nielsen Media Research. Santino and the rest of the cast managed to push the show to reach 32.8%. Tayong Dalawa grabbed the silver trophy with 32.6%. Angel Locsin, Diether Ocampo and Sam Milby completed the top three with Only You, which registered 31.2%.

Romantic comedies Boys Over Flowers and The Wedding edged out respective competition.

The Kapamilya Primetime Bida almost swept the block but 24 Oras got in the way, beating ABS-CBN’s flagship news program TV Patrol World by almost 4%.

Kimerald fans will truly find this post delightful. Kapamilya primetime teleserye Tayong Dalawa topped the Mega Manila ratings yesterday, July 22, 2009 based on AGB-Nielsen Media Research. The Kim Chiu-Gerald Anderson-Jake Cuenca-starrer registered a 34.1 rating.

GMA7′s flagship news program 24 Oras came in at no. 2 with 31.7%, almost 10% higher than its Kapamilya rival TV Patrol World. Zorro fell to the third spot with 30.7%. Santino and Jilian completed the top 5; May Bukas Pa scored 30.2%, Only You 28.9%.

Rosalinda still showed no signs of life with 27.9% while The Wedding and Cruel Love tied with 22.2%.

GMA7 and ABS-CBN2 seem to have divided weekend dominance with the Kapuso network ruling Saturday ratings and the Kapamilya, Sunday, based on the July 17-19 TV audience measurement by AGB-Nielsen in Mega Manila.

GMA7 almost swept Saturday ratings but Banana Split, the gag show topbilled by Angelica Panganiban, got in the way. Banana Split had always been on the losing end but last weekend was a rare triumph for the cast of Banana Split which also includes Jayson Gainza, Pokwang, Zanjoe Marudo, John Prats, RR Enriquez and Pooh. Jayson and Angelica’s impersonation of Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino finally paid off.

Regine Velasquez outsang Cesar Montano as singing competition Are You the Next Big Star edged out game show The Singing Bee.

On the other hand, Sunday was ruled by ABS-CBN, which also almost swept Sunday ratings. What spoiled the fun for the Kapamilya fans was Kap’s Amazing Stories, hosted by Sen. Bong Revilla Jr., spanking the kids of Goin’ Bulilit to shame.

Meanwhile, Your Song Presents: Gaano Kita Kamahal starring controversial actress Maricar Reyes, Sid Lucero and Jodi Sta. Maria-Lacson also outplayed Dear Friend.

But as early as Friday, the ratings arena was action-packed. Eat Bulaga hit the 30s while Rosalinda sank even deeper to 23.5%. Only you beat Rosalinda by almost 3%. Do you think Rosalinda is a hopeless case? Will its ratings improve or will it continue to drop?

As it turned out, Sineserye Presents Ngayon at Kailanman‘s stay in the top 10 list of most watched daytime programs isn’t forever. The Heart Evangelista-JC De Vera starrer was missing in the chart last Wednesday, July 15, 2009 based on TNS Philippines Television Audience Measurement.

Eight of the top 10 were ABS-CBN shows, led by Wowowee and Kambal sa Uma. The only Kapuso shows in the chart were noontime variety show Eat Bulaga and Kung Aagawin Mo Man ang Lahat sa Akin. Kapamilya Mexican telenovela Maria de Jesus: Ang Anghel sa Lansangan soared to the 7th spot. Who would’ve thought another Latin American series would fly?

In the primetime arena, ABS-CBN programs still occupied the top 5 slots. But the bottom half was where the action was, Romantic comedy Adik Sa ‘Yo outranked Rosalinda. The new Pinoy Thalia, Carla Abellana was barely hanging on at no. 9 while Jolina Magdangal, Marvin Agustin and Dennis Trillo climbed to no. 7.

The Wedding, starring Anne Curtis, Derek Ramsay and Zanjoe Marudo, had a weak grasp, falling dangerously at the 10th spot with a rating below 20%.

Tuesday was a lucky day for all Kapamilya fans. ABS-CBN almost swept the primetime and late night blocks yesterday, July 14, 2009, based on AGB Nielsen Mega Manila Survey.

All eyes are still on Rosalinda who has been rather weak in its first two weeks. Only You sucked all the beauty from Rosalinda which 27.9% while the former registered 29.0%. This was the second time in a row this week; Rosalinda’s rating fell to 24.5% last Monday. Could it be because people’s interest has started to wane?

Tayong Dalawa murdered Adik Sa’yo with a 7% gap while The Wedding got cruel on Cruel Love recording a 2% gap between them.

Showbiz News Ngayon (SNN) and Bandila also won their respective battles.

Kapuso fans can still hope for the best since All My Life, 24 Oras and Zorro remained victorious last Tuesday. The question now is, for how long? Is GMA7 doomed? Will Mega Manila supremacy be stolen by ABS-CBN?
